Spend a lively afternoon with beginner, intermediate and advanced freestyle soccer players at Undefined Fútbol Fest. Events include freestyle battles, practice circles and community bonding over free pizza. Join these dynamic and acrobatic athletes for an entertaining and friendly experience of mind-blowing freestyle soccer. The event will take place in the Johnson Center’s G34 Studio A at George Mason University.
Re-Setting the Stage: In Conversation with Robert Wilson
Take advantage of this FREE program at the Hirshhorn (must register at the Eventbrite link below), bringing you an intimate conversation with director, designer and performance artist Robert Wilson. Wilson has left an indelible mark on the look of theater and opera. He was the theatrical producer of Einstein on the Beach by Philip Glass in 1976, and more recently collaborated with Lady Gaga on her living interpretation of Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres’s Portrait of Mademoiselle Caroline Rivière at the Hirshhorn’s 2014 exhibition Days of Endless Time. Arrive early for happy hour at the Dolcezza cafe from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Doors to the Ring Auditorium open at 6 p.m. for this 6:30 p.m. talk with Melissa Chiu, director of the Smithsonian Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.
Student Showcase — In the Dark Circus Arts
Students in a variety of circus disciplines will share their acts in the In the Dark Circus Arts student showcase. See performances on silks, trapeze, static trapeze, lyra, cube, sling, loops and cyr wheel. The line-up of the show will be different on each day. Performances are Saturday (2/15) at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and Sunday (2/16) at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Tassels & Champagne: We Love You Baltimore
Gilded Lily Burlesque presents this Valentine’s Day homage to Charm City in the (fine) form of the city’s most decorated and dazzling burlesque troupe, performing alongside several special guests. Get your photographic mementos from Mab’s Mobile Midway, drink champagne and have a gay old time. Ticket packages for couples are available. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
