Watch the members and instructors of UpSpring Aerial Lab perform Within and Without, an aerial reflection on what holds us together and what splits us apart. The show includes poi spinning, dance trapeze, hammock, trapeze ladder and aerial fabric, on which the performers consider the borders and boundaries in and around themselves, exploring topics like the growth of cancer cells, the breakdown of friendships and the complex relationships we have with our own minds.

Intermediate Dance Trapeze Monthly Meeting

Sundays, monthly (9/17, 10/15, 11/26 and 12/10) @ 1-2 p.m.

Come get tangled in the trapeze with us! We work above the bar, teaching you how to use the ropes for support to create new shapes and unusual transitions. This class is for experienced dance or single-point trapeze students. Students who register for this class should be able to invert cleanly in the ropes without jumping. Ages 16+ (Drop-ins are allowed, but we recommend that students sign up for all class times since material is cumulative.) Not sure if this class is for you? POP!

In the future, everyone will be famous.

In the aerial dance production POP!, UpSpring Aerial Lab uses pop art as inspiration for new work in aerial fabric, aerial sling, dance trapeze, mini lyra, and poi. Featuring work inspired by Andy Warhol, Marisol, Roy Lichtenstein, May Wilson, Claes Oldenburg and more. Tickets $20 adults, $10 children and seniors at joesmovement.org. Children 2 and under free in an adult’s lap.

Concession sales at this event will benefit arts programs at Mount Rainier Elementary School. Proceeds from ticket sales help UpSpring to purchase new equipment and supplies to keep our students safe.
