This Week — 5 February 2021

February has some great education and entertainment in store for us. Discover newfound abilities and your new favorite circus artists.

  • Next Friday (2/12), enjoy a peek into the lives of our circus neighbors to the northwest (Seattle), part of a continuing article series highlighting local circus communities across North America. With each place we visit, you’ll feel more connected to the not-so-small circus ecosystems making a big dent in the knowledge and grace we need to move… forward? Upward? Sideways? It’s hard to say which way is up in 2021, but these folks have plenty of insight for the shared journey.

  • The celebration of Verona, Pennsylvania’s 150th Anniversary is coming up in September. Organizers are currently seeking fire artists, stilt walkers, acrobats, aerialists, contortionists and other circus performers to do roaming entertainment (three performers for two hours) followed by a 30-minute stage show. The event will take place on a weekend in September, with the exact date dependingon performer availability. Contact Rhea (Rae-yuh) at if you are interested in this opportunity or would like more information.
